Electrostatic forces
All matter is put together by electrostatic forces. Forces that come about due to charged particles attracting each other.
Rub a balloon against a woolen fabric or carpet. Static electricity builds up and we can actually attract other charged particles or even neutral objects. Using a balloon see how many items around the room you can attract and explain the reason for the attraction. Below is a table with some examples, complete the rest.

Giving a reason to describe the behaviour may be a little difficult at this stage, so navigate through the links and pick up as much information on the eletrostatic nature of matter as you can.

Static electricity can be generated by rubbing surfaces together.
