Molecular shape of methane

CH4

Methane is a tetrahedral molecule. It is a symmetrical molecule.

Each of the four charged clouds repel to form a tetrahedral arrangement . The hydrogen atoms, located at the end of each charged cloud, form the vertices of a tetrahedron.

The symmetrical nature of a tetrahedral molecule is shown in the animation on the right. (source unknown)
