Using the Pipette
Using the pipette to deliver a very accurate amount of liquid. A filling bulb is used to suck up the liquid. Click to see the 120Kb movie of the pipette filling.
Using a pipette to deliver a very accurate volume of liquid. A filling bulb is used and the liquid is drawn up the pipette by pressing the button on the filling bulb as shown in the picture on the left.
The bottom of the meniscus is right on the mark.

 

 

Fill the pipette so that the bottom of the meniscus is on the mark as shown in the picture on the left.

When emptying the pipette simply touch the end of the pipette against the flask wall. A small amount of liquid will remain in the nozzle of the pipette. Don't worry, the pipette is calibrated to take into account this small volume.
To prepare the filling bulb press the button shown in the picture on the right and squeeze the air out of the bulb.
