Stoichiometry revision exercises

Why Learn Stoichiometry

1) As the Chief Chemist of RAZOS FERTILIZERS you are asked to fill an order for 3,400kg of ammonia by Friday of next week. You must place an order with CIG for nitrogen and hydrogen gas to be delivered. How much of each gas do you order?
3H2(g) + N2(g) => 2NH3(g)
Express the answer with no decimal places.
H=1, N=14,

kilograms of nitrogen gas

kilograms of hydrogen gas

2) As NASA's Chief Chemist you are told to supply enough water for one astronaut for 2 days. Water is not carried on board the Shuttle. It is made when hydrogen and oxygen react together in a fuel cellfuel cell to produce electrical energy.
The byproduct of this reaction is life sustaining water. An astronaut requires 2.7kg of water per day. How much hydrogen and oxygen will you need to have on baord to maintain the water requirements for one astronaut over the two day mission?

grams of oxygen gas

grams of hydrogen gas
