Balloons ready for flight
A few pairs of hands are necessary when getting the balloon ready for flight.
Use a few students to prepare the balloon. Make sure the sides are well clear of the flame.

Place a ball of cotton wool dipped in methylated spirits in the can.

Light the fuel and make sure the sides of the balloon do not come into contact with the flame

Always test fly the balloon first and have it tethered.

Launch the balloons on a cold still morning.
