Model city.

The model bridges can be used in the construction of a very impressive model city.
Step 1 Obtain a large (no less than 1m2 ) wooden base. A thick polystyrene base is ideal if you can get one. Using a texta colour mark the areas destined for residential housing and the areas set aside for parks and gardens. Create landscapes using polystyrene drinking cups, tissue paper and P.V.A. glue to support the bridges.

Step 2 Create a grassy setting by painting P.V.A glue on the base and sprinkling sawdust on top.

Step 3 Construct the houses that will be placed in the residential area. Position them in the area marked for residential development. Streets can now be drawn in.

The city now starts to take shape

Step 4 Use cuttings from shrubs to construct trees for the parks and gardens.

Some cuttings resemble miniature pine trees. Before placing these cuttings on the board it is best to soak them in a 1:1 mixture of water and P.V.A. glue. When the cutting dries paint it with water colours.

Small shrubs and trees make the model look real.
