Distance travelled

versus time

When a vehicle is travelling you will notice the odometer recording the kilometres travelled. The faster the vehicle is travelling the faster the odometer will turn over. The faster a vehicle travells the more kilometres it will cover in a shorter period of time. When the vehicle is stationary the odometer no longer turns. We can record the distance travelled on a graph. See below.
The car travels 80 kms in a time of 50 minutes. It travels steadily over the 50 minute period covering the 80 km distance.
