Velocity vs Time graphs

A velocity time graph can tell us a great deal about the motion of the object that is being studied. Look at the graph below of a rocket.

From the graph, we can tell the following details:
- The fuel runs out 30 seconds into the flight as the rocket starts to slow down.
- The rocket reaches its peak altitude 35 seconds into the flight where the velocity is 0.
- 55 seconds into the flight the rocket comes to a sudden stop(crash).
- The area under the graph is the distance travelled by the rocket.
