Hydraulic Pressure
Forces can be magnified using pistons of different diameters. Pressure produced by the effort piston passes through the fluid (water) to the load's piston. This piston has a larger area and so the pressure from the smaller piston presses on a larger area, This produces a larger force, in this case 5 times the force.

Home This psiton has 5 times the area of the smaller piston and therefore the force is magnified 5 times. Effort Load
