Multiplying fractions
You have to be familiar with the skills of simplifying fractions
Consider the multiplication of the fractions on the right. In order to complete the task we must follow the steps outlined below.

Step 1 Simplify each fraction.

The highest common factor in the first fraction is 3.

So we can simplify 12/15 to 4/5.

 

The highest common factor in the second fraction is 6.

So we can simplify 30/48 to 5/8.

Now we are left with two simplified fractions.

 

Step 2 Further simplify by removing the highest common factors diagonally, as shown.

The highest common factor, from bottom left to top right, is 5.

The highest common factor, from bottom right to top left, is 4
