Atoms reacting-sharing continued

Take the formation of water for example. An oxygen atom approaches two hydrogen atoms. Both the oxygen and hydrogen atoms are non-metals and therefore will not give away electrons. So they share electrons so that they fill their energy levels with electrons. The electrons being shared buzz between the two atoms and join the atoms together by forming a chemical bond.

A water molecule is formed by two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Each hydrogen atom shares one elctron each with teh oxygen atom. The oxygen atom share one electron back with each hydrogen.
