Energy worksheet 5

A rubber band toy plane is released and reaches a peak altitude of 75 metres. At this point the speed of the plane is zero and it starts to nose dive into the ground. If the rubber band had 100 joules of energy with which to power the plane and assuming no energy loss due to air resistance or friction indicate the following :

- the amount of gravitational potential
energy possessed by the plane at peak altitude.

-indicate the amount of kinetic energy
possessed by the plane at the moment of impact.
