Similar triangles
   

We can construct similar triangles by simply reducing or magnifying a triangle. Take a look at the animation on the right.

 

Triangles are said to be similar if they meet some conditions. One condition is that both triangles must have the same angles, as shown on the right.

Here triangles A and B are similar, they differ only in size. Triangle A is one and a half times bigger than B.
